THE BIG BLOOM

Lacoste sneakers

This is what I call the 'Fantasy Outfit', you know that outfit that you imagined yourself in, mimicking the perfume ads where you're running through a romantic city, being chased by a lover who you know will find you...

Sorry, I got carried away but I'm sure I'm not the only one who does! Even in reality though, this skirt is so dreamy and really does all the talking for you. But, being the ultimate talker, it can be easy to overdo the look. To balance out the femininity and formality, I went with the basics of all basics, the white tee and white sneaker - but heels would instantly take the look to ball material! Pick a top that's plain, slim fit and with a silk or drape to accentuate the waist and add effortless. It's the perfect outfit for the races too, and shows there is no pressure to wear a dress or that you can't wear your casual pieces either!

Happy day-dreaming!

DAY2NIGHT: DRESS EDITION

Need a one-stop-shop for all your favourite labels and stores? Well, I've found the perfect place for you.

Lyst puts the therapy in retail therapy and is the middle man we all need in our shopping lives. It's got all you need in one place, from your favourite online retailers (mine's Reformation of course) to designer brands and even your top department stores.

Lyst has got the shopoholics in us all covered. When I was on the hunt for the perfect dress, I could easily search by brand and/or catagory and even compare prices and stock from different sites. I could also save all my favourite items to keep tabs on them and I have to say the email updates are the best though - if you don't find something in your size Lyst tells you when it has been restocked or on sale and also notifies you of the new releases from the brands of your choosing.

If there's one thing they have plenty of, it's the huge and beautiful selection of dresses and I've teamed up with Lyst to show you guys how easy it is to take a dress from day to night.

Slip dresses have been all the rage this season, and I am equally as obsessed with them as everyone else is. There is something so alluring about the whole nightwear trend, the comfort and silky feeling I cannot resist - and mind you, darn easy to wear day and night.

For my day look, I went for the casual thrown together look, dressing down with denim and keeping the chic with a silky necktie and loafer slides to cover the both.

To take a look from day to night doesn't mean you have to pull a whole 180. I added a no-brainer red lip and minimal heels with dainty gold hardware to top it off. Keep it sweet and simple ladies!

HOW TO: DRESS UP WITHOUT THE DRESS

Third Form roll seam pants // similar

Ever had that situation where someone asks you what you're wearing for an occasion that requires dressing up and you say pants and their response is either mixed with confusion or fear (maybe both)? Well even if you haven't, I do feel there is this social pressure to always put on dresses for more formal occasions - and don't get me wrong dresses are great but so are pants!

Here I am to prove to you that pants can really add an unexpected twist to an outfit without sacrificing that awesome dress up feeling and come for free with added bonuses - a) majority of the time pants are waayyy more comfortable, b) can be, if not more, flattering on those pins, c) those pins have sex appeal - without the skin! Overall really, a lot less fun in my opinion and you'll be sure to stand out from the rest.

TRENDTALK: RAW HEM DENIM

I am not afraid to admit that I have fallen hard and fast for the new wave of denim that has taken over! You guys know that I'm smitten with the reworked denim that more brands have now (thankfully) started doing. I like to describe as vintage shopping with a helping hand because you have a lot less to rubbish to comb through and if you're lucky you'll feel like you've found a rare gem. You do have to fork out a few more dollars but the denim and customisation is totally worth it.

Just when I was just about losing hope, having picked about three pairs of revival denim skirts and three pairs of jeans, it was a truly exciting moment when I managed to find this pair on my America trip at Urban Outfitters and I have been non-stop wearing them! It has been such an easy piece to pair with - but that is truly the magic of denim isn't it?
