DAY2NIGHT: DRESS EDITION

Need a one-stop-shop for all your favourite labels and stores? Well, I've found the perfect place for you.

Lyst puts the therapy in retail therapy and is the middle man we all need in our shopping lives. It's got all you need in one place, from your favourite online retailers (mine's Reformation of course) to designer brands and even your top department stores.

Lyst has got the shopoholics in us all covered. When I was on the hunt for the perfect dress, I could easily search by brand and/or catagory and even compare prices and stock from different sites. I could also save all my favourite items to keep tabs on them and I have to say the email updates are the best though - if you don't find something in your size Lyst tells you when it has been restocked or on sale and also notifies you of the new releases from the brands of your choosing.

If there's one thing they have plenty of, it's the huge and beautiful selection of dresses and I've teamed up with Lyst to show you guys how easy it is to take a dress from day to night.

Slip dresses have been all the rage this season, and I am equally as obsessed with them as everyone else is. There is something so alluring about the whole nightwear trend, the comfort and silky feeling I cannot resist - and mind you, darn easy to wear day and night.

For my day look, I went for the casual thrown together look, dressing down with denim and keeping the chic with a silky necktie and loafer slides to cover the both.

To take a look from day to night doesn't mean you have to pull a whole 180. I added a no-brainer red lip and minimal heels with dainty gold hardware to top it off. Keep it sweet and simple ladies!

SUMMER FLING

As the days get shorter and the sun set earlier you know summer is officially over. But let's milk the residues of the warmer weather with a floral number.

This wrap tie and frills give a flirty take on the classic summer piece - one that is comfortable, cool and easy to throw on. This style has popped up everywhere so you are bound to find the print that tickles your fancy. I paired with my trusty patent boots to give it the girly a bit more edge and also to make it more transitional going into autumn.

HOW TO: THE BODYCON DRESS

I admit that I am often deterred by the bodycon/bandage dress, because they always seem to lack creativity  and leaves nothing to the imagination. So your general short and tight combination tends to do the opposite of excite me.

For this particular bodycon dress though, it was the that immediately attracted me - shock horror but black would have probably bored me. The midi length also offers a little more coverage than your average bodycon dress and the non-neutral neutral deep green colour helps one step out of the box but not too far. Pairing with black heels seemed like a no brainer but if you're more into your athleisure (or comfort) then throw on your fav white sneakers.

If there is any time to be inspired, it is during the bittersweet weeks of NYFW & LFW. With the constant influx of amazing photography, street style, it-girls and, of course, the upcoming trends, it's  the fashion girl's dream.

Taking a step towards the out-of-the-box mentality of fashion week, I picked up this jacket dress hybrid in the neutral of neutrals. What's fab though, is that it actually doubles up as a jacket, making it a great laying piece for when it gets chilly. The relaxed fit, means its super easy to style and you can wear it pretty much all year round.

HOW TO: THE SHIRT DRESS

Your outfit all-in-one summer essential with a sweet twist.

These images have not been retouched.

My petite frame means that my wardrobe is quite lacklustre in the dress department, so when I find one that is edgy and fits, it is truly happy days.

Needless to say, I've been thoughtfully outfit repeating and wearing this dress close to non-stop over the last week. If you were one that loved the high-low hem, then this one is perfect for you. But even those who were not such a fan, the subtly of this piece means you won't instantly be irked either. The tie around the waist gives it shape and the light weight material makes such a comfortable piece. I also don't have to tell you that dresses like does all the work for you, making the days with nothing to wear ten times easier.

Can we all just take a moment for these Topshop boots. If you're a regular visitor then you know I am a little straight up boot crazy. I can't understand why anyone wouldn't fall for the soft leather and that red tortoise shell heel.

I admit I've never played much sport but if I did this is what I would envision my glorified outfit to be. White sneakers basically makes it dead easy to mix high-low pieces which I talked about in a recent post any outfit making it acceptable to wear almost everything in the daytime and nighttime. And by combining them with a structured mini dress with minimal detailing means one of the easiest outfits for those "nothing-to-wear" days.
