HOW TO: THE WHITE SHIRT

Willow shirt // similar // similar
Ksubi denim shorts // similar // similar
Daniel Wellington watch
Kirstin Ash necklace

Now this has got to be one of my favourite shoots because you know that nothing gets me more excited than boots and shirts.

I managed to snag this shirt in the sales (so I apologise profusely you can't get your hands on it but I have linked some equally as great alternatives) and it really hits the spot. The buttons down the back, the curved hem, petite collar and exaggerated cuffs don't get you going then I'm not sure what will!
My advice is when looking for basic pieces like a white shirt, keep your eyes peeled that bit of edge, like the button back for instance, so it stays interesting without tipping over into the not-so-basic zone and more of a statement piece.

Keeping it sweet and short (literally), I paired it with my long time love, Ksubi shorts, with floral detailing and some fresh kicks to finish it off.

4 PIECES WORTH INVESTING IN

Let's talk items that are all worth the splurge.

These images have not been retouched.

Marcs leather jacket
Country Road shirt
Levis vintage shorts
Jeffery Campbell boots
& Other Stories sunglasses & earrings
Kirsten Ash rose gold necklace
Daniel Wellington watch

THE BLACK LEATHER JACKET
I get it: A leather jacket is going to make a serious dent in your bank account. But let me tell you it is one of the best investments you can make in your wardrobe. Why? Not only does it go with everything but it's one of those pieces that just brings it all together and adds instant expense. It can be dressed up, down and inbetween and the more you wear it the better it looks.

Shop AsosTopshop, Marcs, All Saints

THE WHITE CRISP SHIRT
This classic piece is one that you'll be glad you invested in. The fit, tailoring and quality can only be achieved by spending the extra few. You'll be amazed at the versatility of a white shirt - it can add structure, cleanliness and formality to an outfit for that easy, thrown together look.

Shop Asos, Seed, Finders Keepers, Saba

THE BLACK ANKLE BOOT
Black boots are not only an essential for the colder months but in my opinion all year round, making it one of the best investments for your wardrobe. Once you find the perfect pair you'll have them for many years to come. For a comfortable pair, it is worth digging deeper into your pocket because not only are they weatherproof but super easy to slip on and run out the door.

Shop Jeffrey CampbellWittner, Tony Bianco, Topshop

THE EVERYDAY WATCH
Now I know not everyone is a watch person, but I have to say my life changed when I invested in a watch that went with everything. Such an effortless way to accessorise every day - because yknow you need the to tell time and all. With so many on the market at the moment, not only will you find one that will fit your budget, but you'll love wearing for years.

Shop Daniel Wellington, Kapten & Son, Larsson & Jennings

BEAUTY EDIT: THE RED LIP

Follow my new Facebook page and Instagram!

So it has been a while since my last Beauty Edit but what better way to return but with a classic red lip.

I was lucky enough to get a hold of the limited edition Nars Digital World lip pencil set with five mini lip pencils - a perfect way to try different colours and finishes. Seeing as the Nars lip pencils have proven to be a cult beauty product for many, I thought it was about time to give them a go !

A definite stand out, and one of the most popular, was Cruella - a bombshell red. (See my latest GRWM for the Descanso, a nude colour) Now Cruella is not quite a true red, but slightly deeper/blue toned which matches my skin tone perfectly. It has a very matte finish, meaning it will not budge all day (and I'm sure survive a few smooches), however, it does rely on a good exfoliation and moisturisation before application.

A lipstick can be a really simple, no brainer way to make your outfit or brighten up your face and makeup.
